The Government has announced a ban on Council’s using CCTV cameras and “spy cars” to enforce parking restrictions. This will become law via the D Regulation Bill in the autumn of 2014 according to Eric Pickles, the local Government secretary. The decision is to prevent “overzealous” enforcement by certain Councils who see it as a money maker. Cameras will now only be used to enforce parking rules in bus lanes, on red routes and outside schools. Good news for motorists.
