Our charges for advice and representation for Road Traffic Offences

We offer a free no obligation consultation either by telephone, by meeting, or by considering documents of up to 15 minutes.

Our fixed fees for summary only road traffic offences are as follows :-

For hearings in Dorset Magistrates’ Courts (Poole and Weymouth):
  1. Guilty plea with mitigation – £1,200 inc. VAT
  2. Guilty plea with evidence of exceptional hardship or special reasons – £1,500 inc. VAT
  3. Contested hearings i.e. trials (not guilty plea) : without Counsel – £2,200 inc. VAT
  4. Contested hearings i.e. trials (not guilty plea) : with Counsel – £3,000 inc. VAT
For hearings in Magistrates’ Courts in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Surrey or Somerset (Southampton, Aldershot, Guildford, Salisbury or Yeovil):
  1. Guilty plea with mitigation – £1,500 inc. VAT
  2. Guilty plea with evidence of exceptional hardship or special reasons – £1,800 inc. VAT
  3. Contested hearings i.e. trials (not guilty plea) : without Counsel – £2,500 inc. VAT
  4. Contested hearings i.e. trials (not guilty plea) : with Counsel – £3,500 inc. VAT

The above fixed fees cover consideration of evidence, preparing proofs of evidence, advice on plea and sentencing powers, routine letters, emails, advice in respect of appeals against conviction or sentence, preparation for or instructing Counsel in relation to an appeal.

All work not covered by our fixed fee arrangement is charged at our hourly rate of £250 plus VAT.

The fixed fees do not cover disbursements or expenses or payments to other people but these will be approved by you in advance. Our fixed fees do cover travel expenses, car parking etc.

All our charges are subject to VAT at the appropriate rate.
