Mobile Phone Offence Penalties Set To Increase

19th January 2015

The Government’s Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin has announced that he is considering A change in the law. It would see the number of penalty points on your driving licence for being caught using a mobile telephone or similar device whilst driving doubled from 3 to 6 points. Two similar convictions in 3 years would mean an automatic 6 months disqualification for accumulating 12 points; unless the Court find exceptional hardship.

You can read about the Daily Mirror’s campaign against mobiles in cars here.
